Crown Equipment has unveiled the new RT 4000 range of pallet transporters, specifically designed with operator comfort in mind.
The range features both stand-up and sit-down configurations with load capacities of up to 2000kg. Its standout feature, according to Crown, is the unique flexible control arrangements and configurable seating on sit-down models that provide comfort for operators of all sizes.
Stand-up models can be configured for right-hand or left-hand steering to meet the needs of individual operators.
Other comfort-enhancing features on sit-down models include a height-adjustable floorboard with 60mm of travel and a low entry step for convenient entry and exit.
The stand-up models feature a suspended, shock-reducing floorboard for ride comfort and a wraparound, soft-foam lean pad for further support.
According to Crown, the RT 4000 series was developed at Crown's European headquarters in Munich, Germany, with a focus on delivering fast, safe and efficient all-day performance from loading dock to warehouse aisle.
AC motors developed in-house by Crown Equipment power the RT 4000 series and give it a top speed of 12.5km/h.
A few safety features have been installed on the pallet trucks, including the patented Entry Bar Safety Switch. This slows the RT 4000 to a stop when the operator places a foot on the entry bar and outside the truck's perimeter.
Electronic power steering on the range helps reduce operator fatigue and boost the truck's manoeuvrability and responsiveness. Complete with spinner knob, the steering wheel is sized and positioned to minimise shoulder and arm stress.
All machines in the range are fitted with a reinforced, 8mm-thick, wraparound steel skirt and 6mm-thick steel covers. No exposed plastic parts have been used in impact areas.
An extensive range of Work Assist accessories are available for the RT 4000 range, including beverage holders, clipboards and storage pockets, among others.
The RT 4000 series’ design features have led an international panel of design experts to grant the range an iF Design Award in the Vehicles category for 2016. According to Crown, the latest award is the 28th iF Design Award the company has received since 1969.
